Guessing Game and some big beady craziness...

Awhile back I wanted to do something really difficult, something "advanced" and hard, something challenging, that would require lots of technical brain power and frustration... so I started flipping through my magazines to see what I could find.
I turned up this little (okay, it's not so little) bead from Scarlett Lanson's lariat in the current issue of Beadwork.

About 5 hours later, and I had finished one bead. (Her's is the big one...mine is the smaller.) So, I pressed on to making a smaller bead using the same technique. I had the great idea to put one on top of the other and suspend both from a chain to make a pendant.

It didn't turn out so hot...it looked like a chandelier...and no one wants that hanging around their neck. So, until I can figure out a use for it...(I don't like lariats), it's sitting on my worktable staring at me like a big bug with gigantic amethyst eyes.

Okay, here's your guessing game....leave me a comment with your guess...and here's your hint....it's a movie. (If you absolutely must know, click here.) Other than that, you can click on the treasury for a bigger pic.

Enjoy Wednesday!

  1. The first thought that came to mind was "Sherlock Holmes". I'm curious but didn't peek. Your new big bead is really pretty...and oh my, FIVE hours??! Were you burning the midnight oil? I'm sure you'll come up with something great to showcase it!
