Studio Saturday

I definitely had the embroidery bug this week. I just couldn't resist, I received some super cute beads for Christmas and just had to start using them. I thought it was really gonna be hard for me to get off my picasso jasper kick, but I think I may be wrong. I've really been excited about using brighter colors lately. I hope you enjoy!

The first is this cute little pendant featuring a 'shroom bead by Humblebeads. This one has a little bit of a profile as I layered the beads closest to the center to give it a little more effect. Mushroom Forest Necklace is in the shop.

This next one is really simple, and it was more of me just working to get over a creative slump that I hit on Thursday! I wanted to make a beaded bead, and I've had this polymer clay faceted bead by Floridity and it all just kind of came together, you can find Aqua and Copper here.

Okay, okay...I know these are a little cheesy, but I just had to make a little something sweet for Valentine's Day and since the birthstone for Feb is amethyst, these are a lavender color. I call them Lavender Love.
I also played around with a new  beadwoven pattern this week, and I've actually sent it off to a magazine, so I'm crossing my fingers! It features the same 5x7 teardrops from my Shooting Stars bracelet. As you can imagine, I have a lot of those lying around. I call it Elizabeth's Cross.

This last one is a ring that's kind of on the large side....oh, who am I kiddin'? It's a pretty big honkin' embroidered ring in some really bright get-rid-of-winter-blues turquoise, yellow and lime green. I call it Turquoise Bubble Ring.
Well, that was my creative week in a nutshell. I hope yours was as creative. Leave me a comment with a link to your space so I can check out what you've been up to!
Have a great weekend everyone and come back on Monday for the first Margie and Me of 2011!

  5. Be warned, my friend...bright colours can be rather addictive ;-) hehe I LOVE all of these pieces! There is a happiness and a joy in each and every one :-) Your Elizabeth's Cross bracelet is seriously stunning...there is no WAY any magazine would pass up the opportunity to splash this beauty across their pages ;-) Inspiring work, as always Marcie!
