Margie and Me - Adoration of the Magi #59

First of all, let me start by saying a special thank you to the wonderful artists who have played along with me the past couple of weeks for Margie and Me. You guys did a GREAT job interpreting the color challenge, and I think the best part is seeing how different everyone's creations have been based on how they see the colors.
I've been so inspired by your work, so thank you for playing and for talkin' it up on your own blogs! I know there are a lot of challenges/contests taking place and I'm honored that you chose mine.

Okay, now that I've got you good and buttered up...the blow will be a little softer when I show you the challenge for the next two weeks...
TA-DAH!

The Adoration of the Magi by Lorenzo Monaco and if you just got knocked down by color, congratulations, you were supposed to!
Now, I've pulled a little color palette from the generator, but let me say this, you have to think shiny with these colors. I don't know if any of you have ever taken a class in Art History, but I actually did and was lucky enough to study the Pre-Renaissance art and let me tell you, these guys liked shiny.

So, the colors above, tahiti gold, fuel yellow, buttercup, even cinnamon were meant to have some luster, a little shine, of course having said that, the whole challenge is to translate the colors your way, so feel free to do what you want.
(Y'all know I have shine issues)
(I'm also determined to stump Ms. Amy in the Delica department...though it might be impossible!!)
All right, so now the housekeeping rules...
1. Create anything you want, it doesn't have to be wearable, but it does have to use the color palette and it doesn't have to be beadwork or bead embroidery!
2. Blog about it, and come back on Nov. 13 to post your blog link and share your creation. (If you don't have a blog, feel free to e-mail me a picture or you could post a link to your Flickr account.)
3. Check out Margie Deeb's book, The Beader's Color Palette. I HIGHLY recommend the purchase of said book, but if you can't swing it right now, a quick trip to your library or a book store would do. Margie gives you a more streamlined color palette. (hint...she leaves out one of the major colors above!) and also gives the exact Delica numbers.

Okay, finally, I want to share a goal wih you guys for the month of November. I've been really thinking about my little store and getting a bunch of new things in there for Christmas, and I've made myself a little goal.
One new thing each day for the month of Novemember!
But, I can't skimp on quality or gorgeousness. My goal is to do this and still keep my level of creativity high. I've got two beady goodie bags coming from two wonderful ladies who will in turn be getting the rings from Saturday, so I'm looking forward to some new inspiration and beady goodness.

Thanks again guys for the encouragement and for playing along. Happy Monday!!!
