Margie and Me UPDATE!

Okay, thanks for your votes...it's decided. Here's what we'll do. We'll change the reveal to two weeks, which means that your Margie and Me creation will be displayed in all its glory on
October 16th.
Lorelei's big Michael's challenge date is the 17th, so we'll do ours a day early.
I'm gonna try to post one of those add-your-blog-thingies at the bottom of the post so you guys can just add your blog as we go along.
Here are some tips about Margie and Me that I always do when I challenge myself each new week...
1. Use the colors, but don't let that be the place where your inspiration stops. Think about shapes or patterns that you can draw from the inspiration image. For example, when I did Persian Rugs, I wanted to create not only using the colors, but also the shapes of the rug.
2. Think about a person in your life who would wear what you created. Last week with the Tuscan Challenge, I thought about my grandmother who wears that soft pink a lot and I tried to create something softer that she might wear.
3. Re-do an old design. Maybe you've got something that you've done in the past that you LOVED, but it's just not fall colors or you've grown tired of wearing it as is. See if you can recreate it in these gorgeous fall colors and make it perfect for this season.

Okay, I'm really, really, looking forward to Oct. 16th. I'm really hoping that this will get you guys playing along and that on Oct. 16th, we can do some serious blog-hopping or flickr scouting to see what everyone has created. Thanks so much for your interest guys, and I look forward to it!

  1. Sounds great - I have an unexecuted idea for Tuscany so maybe I can do both between now and the 16th. Are you doing Lorelei's challenge too? Bought the beads last night, have some ideas, but need to figure out something more than just strining them together :-)
