Margie and Me - Winged Lions of the Ishtar Gate

Lately, I've been overly obsessed with this blueish/yellowish combo thing, so when I was flippin' through Margie's book and came across #46 Winged Lions of the Ishtar Gate, I went for it. Think blue, blue greens and warm yellows with touches of creamy white.
Here's one of the Lions:
And here's part of the gate (it's in a museum in Berlin). It was originally part of the ancient city of Babylon (modern-day Iraq). Okay, the challenge, for those of you who are new, is to create a piece inspired by the color palette and post it to your blog on Saturday. If you have Margie's book, The Beader's Color Palette, you can see the palette really well, if not, that's why I've provided pictures!

Come on guys!! There's gotta be at least one person who'll join me??! If you decide to, leave me a comment and I'll be sure to link to you on Saturday!
Here's today's 24 hr. sale item. Remember these items are disappearing from my shop forever. If no one scoops it up today, it's a design that won't be coming back. I've chosen Chunky Turquoise Ring and it's just that, chunky. If you like big jewelry, this is your ring baby.

Alright, enjoy your Monday! I've got some beadin' to do!

  4. I soooo want to join this week but had to spend most of the week out of town - but will try 'cause I have some cool dark blue with gold accents beads that would be perfect and because I've spent time in Modern day Iraq :-)
