I've been sitting here trying to gather a couple inspiration photos from Etsy for the Margie and Me, Adoration of the Magi challenge. I'm having so much fun, the color combo really is intense, but gorgeous. I've got my piece started and I'm so excited to see the final thing!
Meanwhile here's some inspiration...
Starless made this uh-mazing Autumn Christmas Ornament from polymer clay!!! (and she's from North Carolina, I love my state.)
Jen Jewelry made these Luscious Dangles in rich red and gold.
I also liked these Chandelier Earrings from madebysam. The facets would be so sparkly to wear.
I also liked this Modern Painting from Lucatedde. The highlights are spectacular.
I hope these give you a little inspiration for the challenge. I've been working with the colors, but also with the shape of the triptych. I like the curves at the top that stretch into peaks.
Anyway, I've said too much! Good luck! Leave a comment and let me know how your piece is coming!
Enjoy your weekend!
I've REALLY been enjoying this theme; I've already finished one piece and intend to make another. In the first completed piece, I managed to incorporate the main colors and also reflect some of the feel and historical trappings of the painting itself. I can't wait for the big reveal!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are quite festive! I can't wait to see what everyone creates with this palette :-) I love the shapes of the triptych too, Marcie...it reminds me of some of the gorgeous shapes found in Moroccan architecture ;-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't even thought about this one yet let alone select beads for it... I really want to take part so will have to put on my serious thinking cap today.
ReplyDeleteI love that polymer clay Christmas ornament!

This theme just doesn't want to play out in my hands. I have made two items now and they have a mind of their own. It seems that there are certain colors from the paintings that find their ways to my hands but the finished item is much softer than the bold colors in the painting.
