I really struggled with this one!
The colors were not my cup of tea and I really had trouble creating something that I really, really liked. In the end, I decided to create this long lariat-style charm necklace.
I used the beautiful Earthenwood focal and added little charms of amazonite and pewter with pink czech glass leaves.
I loved the pink leather cord she sent along, so I cut it long, looped it over in a lark's head knot and used the silver loop toggle to hold it together.
This one is for my mom. I know she'll love the colors and length.
I hope you enjoy hopping around the blogs today.
Thank you Lori for this round of Bead Soup!

Here's the list so you can keep hopping!

Marcie this is so pretty! You did a beautiful job and your mother will love this!
ReplyDeleteMarcie - so beautiful! What a fun necklace!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the design of the necklace and the colors are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you did a wonderful job with the colors even though they were not what you were used to - beautiful job! Your mom is a lucky woman!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with your soup! I also love what you sent Lori, wow!
ReplyDeleteEven if it is not your normal palette you sure pulled from your creativity and made one beautiful treasure that I am sure your Mom will brag about!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and romantic necklace! The toggle ring works perfectly as a decorative "bail". Great job, not least considering that the colours were tricky for you.
ReplyDeleteYour struggles were worth it, it's a beautiful piece! I have my favorite "go-to" colors, but it's so interesting what pushing yourself lets you do and opens creative channels. Loved seeing what you made!
ReplyDeleteAwesome that you rose to the challenge outside of your own comfort zone. I think you did a great job and it sounds like it is going to a good home!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable butterfly bead! I think you did a great job here, even if you found the colors challenging. To be honest, I usually work with bolder colors and leave the lighter ones alone -- but they do look nice paired with silver, don't they?
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. The colors are so soft and so sweet. Your mom will love lit.
ReplyDeleteWell, I certainly can't tell that you were working out of your colour comfort zone - you've made an absolutely gorgeous piece! I love the colours myself, I think they work in perfect harmony here and your design compliments them perfectly. I am sure your Mum will love it!
ReplyDeleteHi, I love your soup! Unfortunately I didn't get chosen for this bead soup party but I've posted about my fave soup mixes and hope you don't mind that I've included a link to your post.
ReplyDeleteDeb x
It looks great! What a fun charm necklace, I am sure your mom will be thrilled!

ReplyDeletePerfect Springtime necklace Marcie! You did well with your bead soup! I love that pink cording!
ReplyDeleteEven though the colors weren't your "cup of tea", I think you created a really fun and pretty necklace. I like the softness of the color palette. A charm pendant is a really unique idea too-love it!

ReplyDeleteI think your necklace is sweet and you did a beautiful job creating it! I had to work out of my comfort zone a bit on this challenge too, but I learned from it. Your mom will treasure this necklace, I'm just sure of it!
ReplyDeleteYou work just as beautifully outside of your comfort zone as you do inside it. I love the bead soup you sent to Lori ... those frames you made are just awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe focal is stunning, and even though the color palette isn't one that you're used to...I love the end result!!
