I got my piece done for Kristie's monthly component challenge!
(Okay, well, almost done)
She sent us these cute little charms and I created a little pendant out of mine.
I haven't gotten the chain added yet.
The plan is to add two jump rings through the size 8 beads at the top and add some long thin chain (probably gunmetal).
I created the top part of the pendant in brick stitch with faceted czech glass and some aqua to accent the colors in the little charm.
Thanks Kristie for the opportunity to work with such great pieces!
In other news, I definitely feel like I've bitten off more than I can chew!
I signed up for Erin's Challenge of Music blog hop and then I haven't even started bead soupin', and then I did a swap with another artist and I've got a special order looming as I wait for the supplies to get here to make it.
To top it off, I haven't been falling asleep until late and so I've been sleeping later in the morning to compensate (which means morning creative time has been sacrificed) and I've found a couple of good books and I'm really enjoying reading again when I have any extra time, and this week has been more doctor visits than normal....
it's just been busy what can I say?
The weather has been great the past couple of days though, so I can't complain whenever I have to be pulled out of the house.
I hope you'll check out the other artists that Kristie has in her swap.
Visit her blog here to catch all their creations.
Have a great weekend!
Oh, I am so glad to know that I am not the only one with too much on my plate! I just finished three pieces for the Verse & Vision exhibit (still need to photograph, but the finishing touches on and get to the professional photographer for the close up for the book!), I sent off the 65 charms for the Bead Cruise (of which I am a new sponsor), and a host of other things. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't started my Challenge of Music piece yet... but I will this weekend! If you can't do the challenge, please don't sweat it. February has been one crazy busy month, and I am the first to understand when something has to give! I don't sleep until really late myself, but I also know it is not worth it. So be good to you, Miss Marcie. And by the way, I LOVE what you have done with this little charm. I have a bunch of them and never know what to do with them. You have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day!
Erin
I love what you did with her piece! Very pretty, indeed!
ReplyDeleteI think I bit off more than I can chew this month so I am tackling one thing at a time so I don't jut give up totally (which is what I usually do).
ReplyDeleteYou will finish everything, don't worry.
I like what you ave started, cute
I really love your pendant! I was so curious to see what you would do with the colors in the charm... I also had a freak out this week about the to do list... I decided that it all just wasn't as important as I was making it in my head. and then. poof. it all started falling into place. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMarcie,
ReplyDeleteYour little pendant is very pretty. You will get around to putting a chain on it I'm sure. I have a lot on my plate as well. I should be putting my 7000 bracelets for Hope blog post together, but instead I'm reading and commenting. Oh well I will get it done. Take a deep breath and let it out and everything will start falling into place.

Gorgeous beadwork to compliment Kristie's charm! Good luck with everything.
ReplyDeleteMarcie, you are one busy lady! But you sure managed to design a gorgeous pendant to complement Kristie's pretty charm!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same boat as you!! I didn't start my Music Challenge piece yet and bead soup...don't even go there!! The beadweaving you have done so far is beautiful and compliments the charm wonderfully!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you're stressed! And I hope you know/knew you didn't have to use all the beads I sent!
