Destashin' and rehashin'...

Added a bunch of new stuff to the destash shop...
some tribal beads,

some druks in lovely autumn colors,
Tiger's Eye gemstones,
really bright blue peacock freshwater pearls,

and some morrocan-inspired connectors.

I've also been doing a lot of thinking lately about streamlining my shop. I feel like it's kinda all over the place in terms of what I'm listing. I don't feel like there's a cohesiveness or a focus (although round pendants seem to be a theme with me.) I've been doing a lot of bead embroidery lately and I'm totally falling in love with it all over again.
I'm thinking about making a fall collection, maybe? Something more focused with a similar color scheme. I may not list anything for a while and just take some time to organize my thoughts, I dunno...just thinkin'...what shops do you guys like?

Fall on the Brain...

I think it's because I'm so sick of the hot, hot, hot, humidity of summer, but I am so ready for fall. I have a thing for scarves and sweaters and boots and dark brown, so I've been making things with Autumn on the brain.
The first is a sweet little bead embroidered pendant that I call Autumn Raindrops.

The second has absolutely nothing to do with fall, it's a Carnaval Pendant in singe-your-corneas-electric blue and man is it great.

I'm still destashin'....some picasso jasper teardrops (I just noticed that the way that I had these laid out would make an awesome necklace, I just have no clue about how to get them to stay that way!)

A bunch of silver-colored textured toggles...

And some amethyst....it's my birthstone, but I'm completely at a loss about what to do with it, so I'm passing it on....

Goin' to the library today...any suggestions?

Early Guessing Games...

I usually do this on Wed., but I finished this last night and wanted you to see it. Think movies, current movies....and give me your guess.
Oh, and to everyone who said Aladdin from last week, you're absolutely right.
Here's the link, if you must peek, that way, you can click the picture to make it bigger and not be sent directly to the treasury!!

Margie and Me - On hold...

I've decided to skip this week with Margie. (I hope she's not mad!)
I went to Raleigh this weekend and brought back quite a haul of beads, so I think I'm gonna go with the inspiration that my new colors is bringing me.
For some reason last week's Margie and Me challenge wasn't fun, I felt constrained, and that's not creative at all.

The first thing I brought back were some toggles from Elaine Ray. I really love wearing this necklace and I wanted one in some softer colors so I bought these two toggles for that purpose. I don't know if that necklace will ever sell, it's hard to translate how nice it feels to wear in a picture, but I often find myself picking out my outfit around it.
Seed beads. (of course)
Little faceted czech glass. I'm a seed beader, so everything I bought was small. I learned my lesson about buying big beads (hence the destash shop).

Gemstone rounds in some lovely autumn shades.
This is what I finished on Sunday...
The first is a new ring, Ring in the Fall. After wearing this ring all day Saturday, I learned a little about how to make these rings hold up better under use, and so this new one has reinforced stitching and it's orange! (Where are ya' Jenn?)
I also created this necklace, I call it Chasing Birds. It's a lovely light sea green color and sports tiny beaded beads and little brass birds. If you'd like to see more pics, you can go to the listing. Well, I'm off to play with my new beads... :)

Out with the old...in with the new...

Bought a butt load of beads yesterday which means I'll be making new stuff, which probably means I'll be getting rid of some of the old stuff in my shop.
Which means if you like it...then you shoulda put a ring on it..or well, at least you probably ought to grab it up, because it might be gone by next weekend.
And, if it's red or green, it's 10% off...at least until tonight, when I change all those prices back to normal.
I've been wearing these three a lot lately....I'm not really sure why...

Margie and Me - Throne of the Pharoah Part 2

I must admit that this week was a little difficult for me. I really had to work to find the right balance between the colors and the feeling that I wanted to convey with an Egyptian Pharoah as the theme. I ended up going really easy on the gold, and I left the ivory out altogether. It just wasn't working for me.

The result is a little more medieval than I wanted it to be, but it's still a really elegant bracelet.
I'm going to have to come up with a name for it....any suggestions?

I've also placed some new things in the destash shop. The first is this amazing Crazy Lace Agate cabochon with a really gorgeous mix of colors.

Also, a Plume Agate cab that reminded me of a desert landscape when I bought it. I still love the depth in this stone.

Some Jasper Focals

Some Chrysophrase chips.

And, finally a big, chunky, tribal focal pendant.
Alright, I'm headed to Raleigh today...Bead Mercantile Show, Ornamentea and H&M...Here I come.

Share the Love...

At least that's what I'm doing in my new Destash shop. La Bella Joya Supply is now open and I'm passing on these lovelies to you because I think you can give them a better home.

Guess what's in the shop?

The Tutorial!
I finally finished it!
Available now: Carnaval Pendant Tutorial.
The instructions will show you how to make the tutorial in the bright lavender version, but it will also include a blank outline so that you can color in your own unique colors to mix and match.

These are so addictive and you can make a good one in about an hour.
I've also marked down all my tutorials to celebrate, so you can get a great deal on a weekend project!
Also, I've still got everything in my shop that's red or green on sale for Christmas in July. It'll end July 25th, so get it while you can!
Thanks so much for your input from yesterday. I will definitely be opening a Destash shop, but I'll tell you more about that later.

New Rings and a Guessing Game

It all started this weekend when I went dancing and I saw a girl with the most gorgeous bead embroidered ring on her finger.
First thing that went through my mind was, "How beautiful!".
The second thing, "I bet she bought it at a department store, and I bet I could make one!"

So, here's my newest endeavor and the result of my bead embroidered inspiration.

I call it Blue Concentric Circles, and as you can see below, it is completely lined on the back and is adjustable like all of these rings. It's super comfortable to wear if I do say so myself!

The second I call Rustic Turquoise and this one has a much softer not-so-modern feel. It sports some gorgeous little turquoise rounds with soft yellows and burnt siennas thrown in for some color.

The last one is River Rocks Ring. It's a gorgeous little bead of ocean jasper surrounded by the warmest autumn greens and browns that I could find in my stash. (I'm so ready for fall!)

Okay, and here's the Guessing Game for today. Last week I sold one of my Egyptology Pendants, and I loved it so much I had to create another. And then I was inspired by it to create this treasury. Think movies again and leave me with your guess....

Okay, last thing...I'm thinking about opening a new shop for some destash. I've got a ton of gemstones and some gorgeous cabochons that I just don't see myself using and I'd love to pass them on to someone who will. Has anyone opened a destash shop before? How did it go? Did you have to use another e-mail or will Etsy let you have two shops on one account?
Have a good Wednesday!

Margie and Me - Throne of the Pharoah

This week's Margie and Me is #41 The Throne of the Pharoah. Margie calls this mix of black, gold and ivory "a classic palette...perfect for any sophisticated evening adornment."
I've been stuck on Egypt lately (I think it's the intenseness of the colors) so this will be great. I've also never thought to work ivory into gold and black.
I'm going to try to get finished with my challenge by Friday because Saturday I'm going to the Bead Mercantile Show in Raleigh. I'm trying not to buy any beads until then.

Don't forget I'm still holding a Christmas in July Sale!

Everything sporting red or green is on sale. Here's a peek at some of the goods:

Egyptology Pendant (told ya' I was obsessed)

Jane's Pendant (a literary inspiration)

Green Spring Ring ('cuz it's still nowhere close to fall where I'm at!)

Oh, I also changed my shop banner. Drop by my shop and tell me what you think. Do you like? Should I change it or keep it?
Enjoy your Monday!

Margie and Me - Atticus Atlas Moth Part 2

I tried, I really did try to do something different with the Atticus Atlas Moth colors. I tried to make a beaded bead like El Mar and I tried to create a ring with the moth shape, but none of them looked as good as this did:
So, here it is a Carnaval Pendant in some amazingly intense reds, purples and soft mints. I call it Carnaval Pendant in Rich Red.

I promise this will be the last one...well, at least for the week...you won't have to see another one of these all week. I promise. :)
Little known fact, I love Egyptian history. I used to consume books about Ancient Egypt, so here it is: The Egyptology Pendant. An amazing mix of the most intense reds, blues and turquoise green reminiscient of all things Egypt.

Finally, I created a bracelet to accompany El Mar choker. It's a tiny beaded bead strung on black waxed cotton cord. El Mar Bracelet is listed separately from it's partner, but if you purchase both of them at the same time, I'll give you a little deal. :) You'll have to check out the listing to see!

Here are the two close-up, the larger choker up top, and the smaller bracelet at the bottom.

Enjoy your weekend!
Oh, and don't forget, I'm joining in on the fun of Etsy's Christmas in July sale! So if it's red or green it's 10% off. Check out my shop for details!
