Molten Lava and I won!!

Here's a snapshot of my newest creation. This is definitely the most labor-intensive one I've done, and it was definitely a practice in circular peyote. I call it Molten Lava. If you want to know why, click here. There are more pictures in my Flickr account, by the way.

Also, in other news....I won something!! Yep, here's a picture of the beautiful bead embroidery pendant that I won from Jodi Horgan! Here's a link to the contest, which is actually a bead embroidery tutorial if you're interested in learning, and here's a link to her shop. She does wonderful work and her pieces are beautiful! If you're interested in buying something bead embroidered, I would highly recommend her things.

They're mine!!

I finally made an Etsy purchase that I've been mulling over for a while. It is a great set of glass cabochons made by Lawatha. They are beautiful, and now that my mom and sisters have picked their favorites, I'm going to get started on some pendants for each of us. Should be fun and, of course, I'll post pictures when I'm done. Here's the picture of the cabs that I purchased, you should definitely check out her shop. Beautiful!

A Giveaway and Ricky Martin!!

I used to think that Ricky Martin was kind of goofy, and I really didn't like his music.....until I heard this song. Sorry I can't embed it, YouTube won't let me. But you should definitely check it out, even if you can't understand it, it's extremely catchy, and will make you want to hop up and dance!!

On another note, Mari of MIS AMORES is having a Giveaway! It's her birthday, and she's giving away some cuties! Check out her blog and enter, who knows you might just win something for her birthday!

Tag! I'm it!

Mari of Mis Amores tagged me yesterday and invited me to play. Of course I want to play! Here are the rules:
-List six silly things that make you happy
-Mention and link to the person who tagged you
-Tag six of your favorite bloggers to play
Here are my silly things:

1. Watching the movie Cars with my nephew. It's a silly kids movie, but I laugh every time that Mater says, "He did whut een he's cup?!!!"
2. Listening to this song.
3. Reading these jokes.
4. Making up synchronized swimming routines with my sisters in the pool. (yes, I'm 26 years old...)
5. Dancing whenever anyone's cell phone rings. (It's a tradition with my family, therefore we all have dance-worthy ring tones.)
6. Inside jokes. (I'd love to share a couple with you, but then it wouldn't be an inside joke!)

So here are the six people that I've chosen, in no particular order...
Erin of Every Heart Crafts
Pam from Wait Just One More Bead
Try-to-be-Better
Lisa from Lucid Moon Studio
Krisztina from Carmen's Beads
Kristie from Artisan Clay

Clasp Conundrum

Okay, here's my newest creation that y'all got a sneak peek of a couple of days ago..

Now, here's my conundrum...Do you see that little silver clasp dangling oh-so-precariously on the end of the first blue circle?? Yeah, that one...well, that's what I used to latch the whole thing together because I wanted a seamless kind of flow around the wrist. I knew that it wasn't perfect when I did it, but I did it anyway, and then last night as we were eating out, my brother-in-law looks at me and says..."That clasp on that bracelet looks like you stuck the Mona Lisa to the fridge door with Scotch tape." Sometimes my family says things so eloquently. Any suggestions for a new clasp? I'll let ya' know if I figure anything out.
Until then, here are some pictures of what will surely be lunch for us in a couple of days...

School's out...Summer's in...

Wow! It's been a while since I've posted, but I thought I'd give a little update of what I've been doing for the past couple of weeks.
First of all, school's out!! Yeah!! Free time!
Secondly, I made some necklaces for my sister's prom dress...

Then, I organized my glass bead stash in some spice holders that I found at World Market...
Finally, I started another bracelet, and this one is going to be part of a contest, but I'm not going to say which one right now. I'll let ya' know when it's done...

By the way, just so you know, this isn't an exhaustive list of what I did these past couple of weeks, this just happened to be the more fun part.

Finally, I have a question....Does anybody know where I can get inexpensive stone cabochons? I'm looking for some smaller ones. I've had someone request that I make them a hair barrette like the one I made for ABS, but they want calmer colors. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

The benefits of a bead swap...

...are that you get entirely new products/things to play with. For example, I told you that Pam Ferrari sent me a wonderful stash of beads, in which she included a couple wonderful handmade dichroic glass cabochons. I just started doing beadweaving a couple of weeks ago, and decided to use the cabochon as the centerpiece for a hair clip that my sister has been wanting for a while. Well, here's the clip, and you can see Pam's cabochon in the center. I hope you like it and thanks again Pam.
P.S. Here are some other goodies that I've done recently:
